unidentified aphid

These images are from August 2015. The wing venation suggests aphid but can anyone enlighten me as to species.  Comparison with images on-line shows some similarities with Hellebore aphids but I haven't found a winged green aphid with an orange thorax yet.

  1. Howard - had this response from the local aphid expert:
At first glance I thought it was the sycamore aphid Drepanosiphum platanoidis (late summer winged female), but based on the siphunculi I think one of the birch aphids Euceraphis betulae or punctipennis (late summer winged female) is more likely. It’s always nice to have the host on which it was found and I wouldn’t like to name this beast with confidence without seeing it in the flesh.

    1. Thanks Dave ( & Ed )
The images were taken on 05 August 2015 - the first was on the garage window frame and the second on the garage window, so no host plant information.
I'll amend my record to Aphid sp possibly Euceraphis sp. Probably not worth entering on SEWBRecORD ?

  2. I would suggest you try to find them on their hosts this summer. But I agree that they they are probably not worth recording at this stage.
