Groundhopper id
Can anyone describe how to separate Slender and Cepero's Groundhoppers by any chance?
There is some info in a book by WILD GUIDE UK called Grasshoppers & Crickets of Brtain & Ireland. The differences between Slender & Cepero's Groundhoppers according to the book is very minor, but there are some good photos in the book. Hope this helps.
Thanks Mike - anytime I've tried to look at Orthoptera I've found them quite difficult as there doesn't seem to be much info on the web about them. I put this one up on iSpot a day or two ago and Martin Harvey has confirmed it as Slender Groundhopper on the basis of widely separated eyes and relatively short ovipositor valves. A book might be a good idea I think!
Hi Adam This book does give some illustrations of the differences between them both, the slope of the head and the distance between the eyes. The web address is www.wildguideuk.com All the best, Mike
