Fungi (?)
Can anyone enlighten me as to what these are on (I think) rotting alder leaves? They are tiny only 1-2mm high. I assume a kind of fungus but very attractive whatever they are!
I saw something looking very similar on Alder bark in Northern Ireland this morning! My guess was a slime mould (Myxomycete) rather than a fungi, but it would be interesting to hear if you get a definitive opinion on it.

Thanks Adam, I hope you're enjoying over there? I did wonder about a slime mould myself - I'll try emailing it to someone who might know!
