Parc Slip

As well as the red underwing (see moth blog) on the Visitor Centre there were 6 clouded yellows, including a mating pair, and at least 10 small coppers in one of the new wildflower meadows today.

Yesterday a Wall (first recorded at Parc Slip since 2011) and a diamond-back moth were seen in the stunning 'failed' arable crop field.

  1. Also at least 4 clouded yellows near Llantwit beach along with a painted lady, silver Y, common blues, red admiral, large whites and commas in Cwm Colhuw itself

  2. It's impressive how the butterflies hang on when the weather is fair at this time of year. Given the forecast for much cooler weather from tomorrow, they'll probably be gone by next week.
